Removal of Cars from Cordia Homecare Staff.

 Sell Cordia Homecare vehicles.

Why the contribution is important

Cordia Homecare staff do their rounds in a car/van. Usually there is a driver and another member of staff. Not always, but on some ocassions, I have seen only one person call on the client while the  other waits in the car.

Glasgow has a high rate of obesity and ill-health due to lack of exercise. Selling the vehicles would make some much needed money, save on fuel and upkeep, and staff could quite easily do their home visits on foot which would keep them fit, with less days off work due to stress.

Seriously? There are thousands of clients needing home care services on a daily basis in Glasgow, some up to 4 times a day and some through the night also. If carers were walking back and forth the amount of time needed for traveling time would increase enormously to the point there would be more time traveling than spent with clients - meaning there would be a need to employ lots more carers to fill the gaps and the saving from the sale of the cars would quickly be eaten up.
