reducing rented property and use GCC owned properties

I think the amount of rented office space and buildings GCC use is a money pit, and should be using properties owned by the council to reduce expense, also long term repairs versus replacement of ineffective equiptment, ie heating and air conditioning units.

Why the contribution is important

By removing monthly/ annual rent being paid out to landlord we should be using the facilities at our disposal. How many GCC properties are sitting empty or have been sold for a short term economic injection of funds, which have been burned through or put to waste?

I dont know how much the rent paid out by GCC is per month, but surely removing this cost and using land/ property owned by the authority would be financially and economically beneficial and a long term reduction in cost?
